Access and Compliance

Our office serves the University of Montevallo campus by providing reasonable accommodations to  students with disabilities as they participate in the “Montevallo experience”. The University of Montevallo is committed to providing equal access to university programs, activities, and services, including courses, website services, digital technology, and resources. Our office works closely with other areas on campus to provide the best possible service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors with disabilities.

The Access and Compliance (AAC) office is located in the rear central (lower) wing of Main Hall near the offices of the Dean of Students and TRIO-Student Support Services. Students with disabilities are encouraged to contact the AAC office early in their academic career to discuss reasonable accommodations. All requests will be responded to as quickly as possible. However, some services, such as alternate format materials and disability-related housing assignments, have publicized priority deadlines.  Accommodations are not retroactive.

Accessibility/Disability Compliance

The University of Montevallo is committed to making its programs, services and activities accessible for all persons with disabilities. The following information is provided so that concerns or accommodation requests may be promptly addressed by the appropriate officials. The University seeks full compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and the ADA Amendments Act of 2008.
